Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+: Images, specs and prices leaked

There have already been several leaks about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ – and here’s the latest. The Galaxy tablets will differ from their predecessors in some aspects, but the changes are rather minor.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra

Both tablets are powered by the Dimensity 9500, which replaces the Dimensity 9400+ in the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and the Dimensity 9300+ in the Galaxy Tab S10+. Why isn’t there a “Plus” chipset this year? Well, MediaTek never released a 9500+ – there is a Dimensity 9600M, but it’s not different enough to justify a “Plus” label. The Dimensity 9600 Pro is also available, but it was only recently announced. Therefore, the Dimensity 9500 is used.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 12 MP wide-angle camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12 MP selfie camera. The Ultra’s 14.6-inch display has a notch for the selfie camera, while the 12.4-inch display of the “Plus” model does not require a notch (it instead has wider bezels).

As you can see in the pictures, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ only has a single rear camera – a 13-megapixel wide-angle module. While the Galaxy Tab S10+ did have a dual camera with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, Samsung omitted it for unknown reasons.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra remains 5.1 mm thick and features the same 11,600 mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. The Tab S12+, however, receives a new 10,600 mAh battery (a slight upgrade from the Tab S10+’s 10,090 mAh) and also supports 45W fast charging. The new “Plus” model is 0.3 mm thinner than its predecessor, measuring 5.3 mm.
Batteries
Furthermore, the EPREL labels for both tablets are part of the leak. These indicate that the batteries are designed for 1,200 charge cycles (unchanged for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra; however, the predecessor to the Plus model had a battery with 2,000 charge cycles). The battery life of the new Ultra has decreased to 88 hours and 54 minutes, compared to 94 hours and 51 minutes for the Ultra 2025.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ now lasts 80 hours and 34 minutes, an improvement over the Tab S10+’s 73 hours and 44 hours. We doubt that the additional 510 mAh in the battery makes such a significant difference; the longer runtime is likely due to the more efficient chipset (and possibly the display).
The battery life of both tablets (Wi-Fi and 5G) is identical. As before, the devices have a low drop resistance rating (E), an average repairability rating (C), and a dust and water resistance rating of IP68.
Prices
Here are the European prices for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+. Double the storage capacity costs €200 more, and the 5G modem adds €150. For comparison, a Tab S11 Wi-Fi with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage cost from €1,340 last year, while the 5G version with the same storage capacity cost €1,490. The S12 Ultra will therefore be €200 more expensive than its predecessor from last year. Since there was no Tab S11+ last year, a direct comparison is not possible.
