Microsoft has also announced the price for the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, which costs $5,999. It is available for pre-order in the US and will begin shipping in November.

The Nvidia RTX Spark chipset used in the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra features a Blackwell RTX GPU with 5,120 or 6,144 cores and an Nvidia Grace CPU with 18 or 20 cores. It also includes up to 128 GB of shared RAM.

In addition to the powerful chipset, Microsoft says the notebook features a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen display with up to 25 percent higher HDR peak brightness than the MacBook Pro M5.

Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface RTX Spark Dev Box aims to compete with Apple’s Mac Studio and Mac mini. It offers AI performance of up to 1 petaflop and 128 GB of shared memory, and uses the same RTX Spark chipset as the Surface Laptop Ultra.
