vivo X500: Geekbench test, Dimensity 9600 Pro and teaser video

The upcoming vivo X500 has apparently been discovered in the Geekbench online database with the model number V2609A. As can be seen in the screenshot below, the device achieved a single-core score of 2,694 and a multi-core score of 7,770 in the Geekbench 6.7.1 test for Android.

It is powered by a MediaTek chipset, which could very well be the newly announced Dimensity 9600M – or the Dimensity 9500 from last year, as the two processors are almost identical.
The prototype that performed the benchmark test had 12 GB of RAM, but as usual, vivo could offer further options at launch. One thing seems certain, however: the vivo X500 will ship with Android 17 and the company’s own OriginOS 7 user interface.
vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max with Dimensity 9600 Pro
MediaTek has also just unveiled the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its latest flagship chipset, manufactured using a 2nm process. Oppo has already confirmed that the Find X10 Pro Max will be among the first devices to use this chip, but it won’t be the first to be unveiled.

This is because vivo beat Oppo to the punch by exactly one day. vivo is launching the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max on September 21st, while Oppo won’t announce the Find X10 Pro Max until September 22nd. Therefore, the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max will be the first devices officially equipped with the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
Furthermore, vivo hinted via the company’s official Weibo account that the X500 Pro series will support 4K120fps 10-bit log recording and output, a powerful Imaging NPU 2.0 with industry-leading 60fps autofocus, a self-developed image chip for industry-leading 4K Dolby Vision portrait videos, and a new, powerful AI processor.

This new image chip can be seen in action in a new video, which focuses on the base model of the vivo X500. The new design is clearly recognizable: A circular camera unit is located in the left part of a larger rectangular platform.
The vivo X500 will be available in black, gray, pink, and a gradient color option. It features a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony’s Lytia 828 1/1.28″ sensor. Additionally, it includes a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with Sony’s Lytia 610 sensor, which supports a 200mm teleconverter.
The vivo phone also features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 6.37-inch touchscreen.
