Amazon Kindle (12th generation), Kindle Paperwhite (7th generation) and Kindle Colorsoft (2nd generation) are here

Amazon today unveiled three new Kindle models, featuring updated colors, a slimmer and lighter design, and longer battery life. All versions now have a flush display and an optional aluminum back.
Amazon Kindle (12th generation)
The Amazon Kindle (12th generation) features the same 6-inch E Ink screen, but with rounded corners and a seamless, flush display. This allowed Amazon to expand the color palette, so the bezels around the display have the same color tones as the rest of the device.

Ube is the new trend color. It’s a deep violet, alongside Graphite Black, Alpine Sky, and Seaglass Green. The latter two are special because they feature an aluminum back. All versions of the new Amazon Kindle (12th generation) are 1 mm thinner than the previous generation. The plastic models weigh 140 grams, while the versions with an aluminum back weigh 20 grams more.

Other new features of the Amazon Kindle (12th generation) include 30% faster book opening compared to its predecessor, the 11th generation Kindle. The power button is now located on the right side. Speaking of battery life, Amazon states that the new Kindle lasts up to six weeks on a single charge.
The Amazon Kindle (12th generation) is available from $150 in Ube and Graphite and comes with 16 GB of storage. The Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green versions with an aluminum back offer 32 GB of storage and cost $190.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (7th Generation)
Alongside the 12th generation Kindle, Amazon introduced the redesigned Kindle Paperwhite, the seventh generation of the Paperwhite series. Like the regular Kindle, the new Paperwhite is thinner and lighter and offers a battery life of up to twelve weeks.

It features the same 7-inch E Ink display as its predecessor, but according to Amazon, the new Paperwhite offers an improved contrast ratio for better sunlight readability. The standard version of the 7th generation Paperwhite is available in graphite with 16GB of storage for $200.
The Signature Edition of the Paperwhite features an aluminum back, an auto-adjusting front light sensor, and 32 GB of storage. It is available in graphite and sea glass green for $250.
Amazon Kindle Colorsoft (2nd Generation)
The Kindle Colorsoft (2nd generation) is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor and, in addition to Graphite, also offers the new Fig color. Like the other two new Kindle models, there is also a Signature Edition with an aluminum back.

The Kindle Colorsoft is available from $290, the Signature Edition costs $320.
Accesories
In addition to its new e-readers, Amazon also announced a Bluetooth page-turning remote called Kindle Click ($35), a magnetic cover with integrated page-turn buttons called Page-Turn Cover ($80), and a new charging station for $60.
