Samsung Galaxy A18 4G with Exynos 1610 chip and IP64 protection is here

The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G was quietly launched in Europe today, including in France, Norway, and Sweden. It is a 4G smartphone; a 5G version of the A18 is not yet available.

The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G represents only a minor upgrade over the Galaxy A17 4G. The biggest change is that Samsung has replaced the Helio G99 chipset with the Exynos 1610. The Exynos 1610 is also brand new, and unfortunately, Samsung is still keeping further details under wraps.
The new model boasts an IP64 rating, making it dustproof – the predecessor, the A17, offered only IP54 protection. The 5,000 mAh battery is designed for 1,200 charging cycles and supports 25-watt charging. According to the manufacturer, it reaches 50% charge in half an hour.

The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G also features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. And it still has a cutout for the 13-megapixel selfie camera.
The Galaxy phone’s camera setup consists of a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8, no optical image stabilization), a 5 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.4), and a 2 MP macro camera. The camera can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. In this respect, the Exynos 1610 offers no improvement over the Helio G99.

The A18 ships with Android 17 and One UI 9 and will receive six years of operating system updates. Security updates will be provided until the end of October 2032. The new model is slightly thicker than the A17 – it measures 7.7 mm thick and weighs 196 g. The A17 was 7.5 mm thick and weighed 190 g. The difference will likely be barely noticeable to the naked eye, but we wonder why – after all, the A18 doesn’t have a larger screen or battery.
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G prices
The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G is already available in the French Samsung online shop. Only one configuration is offered, with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, priced at €280. A microSD card slot is also included. Shipping begins on September 18th. The phone is available in gray, light blue, and black.
According to a Norwegian press release, the 128GB model costs 3,290 NOK, while a 256GB version is available for 5,190 NOK. In Sweden, the two models cost 3,290 SEK and 5,190 SEK respectively, but the A18 was not yet available in online shops.
