The affordable Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G hasn’t been officially unveiled yet and hasn’t appeared in China either. However, it’s now officially listed in its first online shop in Poland, so the official launch shouldn’t be far off.

Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G with 7,500 mAh battery

Apparently, all the rumors about the technical specifications are true, but more importantly, the European version is equipped with a large 7,500 mAh battery. We weren’t sure about this before, as European versions often ship with smaller batteries.

The rumors about the price were incorrect. The Redmi smartphone is actually cheaper than expected. The two offers from the Polish retailer are for the blue and green versions, each with either 4/128 GB or 4/256 GB of storage. The 128 GB variant costs 900 PLN (210 euros/242 USD), and the 256 GB variant costs 1,100 PLN (255 euros/295 USD).

The very small amount of RAM, only 4 GB, is probably no coincidence. Given the rapidly rising RAM prices, manufacturers will likely increasingly use 4 GB memory chips in budget smartphones again.

Of course, various technical specifications are still missing, for example regarding the cameras and the chipset. Furthermore, additional members of the Redmi 17 series are likely to emerge.
