Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7: Official unboxing shows FlexWindow features
Samsung has released an official unboxing of the Galaxy Z Flip7, highlighting the most important upgrades of the 2025 generation. Much of it revolves around the larger 4.1-inch cover display and the new AI features of One UI 8 based on Android 16. The Samsung phone comes in a small box that also includes a USB-C to C cable and a short user manual.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is the Korean company’s thinnest flip-foldable to date, measuring 13.7 mm when folded and 6.5 mm when unfolded, as can be seen in the photos. The Armor aluminum frame and the Armor FlexHinge hinge work together to ensure stability.
The smartphone expands the Z Flip palette with a new color: a navy blue called “Blue Shadow.” Samsung.com exclusively offers the additional color Mint.
The new cover display – or as Samsung calls it, the FlexWindow – is significantly larger than before, measuring 4.1 inches instead of 3.4 inches. The edges have almost disappeared at just 1.25 mm thick.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 features a larger 6.9-inch internal display than its predecessor (6.7 inches). Both the cover and the internal display achieve a brightness of up to 2,600 nits for optimal outdoor visibility. With the Galaxy Z Flip6, only the inner display reaches 2,600 nits, while the outer display reaches a maximum of 1,600 nits.
The Flexwindow is also a great tool for selfies. By the way, the area around the cameras shines in different colors depending on the mode: white is the standard mode, yellow is for photos and red for videos.

You can use the zoom slider to frame your recording or have the auto zoom carried out automatically-ideal for group photos where you cannot hold the smartphone in your hand. The real-time preview of filters in the Flexwindow is new in this generation.
