Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold to only charge with 25 watts
There have long been rumors that Samsung will introduce its first triple-folding smartphone, similar to the Huawei Mate XT, this year. It remains to be seen whether the Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold will be presented together with the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 at the next Unpacked event in New York in July.
Notwithstanding, the Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold is currently in the global certification phase and has notably been spotted on the Chinese 3C database. This certification has revealed that the smartphone only supports wired charging with 25 watts.
Certification in China also confirms that the smartphone will be launched there. The triple-folding Galaxy smartphone has the model number SM-F9680, with the “0” at the end indicating a smartphone intended for the Chinese market. Worldwide, it will be called SM-F968x, with the last letter varying depending on the market. SM-F968 was previously associated with the triple-folding device.
Unsurprisingly, the 3C certification also reveals that Samsung will ship the triple-folding smartphone without a charger. According to previous leaks, the device will feature a 9.96-inch folding display and a 6.54-inch cover display and weigh 298 g. However, the release could be limited to a very few countries, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which was only launched in South Korea and China.
