Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 with Exynos 2500 chip, A57 with Exynos 1680
According to rumors, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 will also debut the delayed Exynos 2500 chipset. A benchmark test of a prototype with the model number SM-F766U has now been discovered in the Geekbench database. The model number of the tested smartphone belonged to the version that will be sold in the US. Therefore, it is very likely that the Z Flip7 will use the Exynos 2500 worldwide.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 benchmark gives us an idea of what we can expect in terms of performance from the Exynos 2500 processor, which was originally designed for the Galaxy S25 series, but was replaced by the Snapdragon 8 Elite due to performance issues. If you look at the scores, you can quickly understand this decision.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 prototype achieved a single-core score of 2,012 and a multi-core score of 7,563 points, putting it more on par with its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The reason lies in the CPU configuration with a ten-core CPU with one Cortex-X925 core at up to 3.3 GHz, two Cortex-A725 cores at up to 2.75 GHz, five Cortex-A725 cores at up to 2.36 GHz, and two Cortex-A520 cores at up to 1.8 GHz.
The clock speeds of this chip are significantly lower than those of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and also the new Xiaomi Xring O1. However, it is possible that this is a modified Exynos 2500 variant for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, which, as a foldable device, may be able to dissipate less heat.
According to the Geekbench test, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 will also be launched with Android 16 and One UI 8 and will have 12 GB of RAM. It is expected to be released in early July together with the Galaxy Z Fold7.
Samsung Galaxy A57 gets new Exynos 1680 chipset
Samsung launched the Galaxy A56 in March. It is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1580 chipset. Its successor, the Samsung Galaxy A57, is expected to be equipped with the new Exynos 1680 chip in 2026. The Exynos 1680 is said to have the model number S5E8865 and the codename Terra. Further details are not yet known, but it can be assumed that it will use an Xclipse GPU like its predecessor.
However, there’s still plenty of time for more leaks and teasers until the Samsung Galaxy A57 is unveiled. The Exynos 1580 offered a significant performance boost compared to the 1480. However, in the mid-range, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset presents extremely strong competition.
