Xiaomi’s latest Wear OS smartwatch is here, and it’s packed with features. The Xiaomi Watch 5 is an uncompromising smartwatch with an extremely powerful battery. Before we look at the technical specifications, let’s take a look at the unboxing.

Xiaomi Watch 5 Unboxing

The Watch 5 ships with Xiaomi’s usual magnetic two-prong charger, which unfortunately still uses a USB-A connector instead of a USB-C port, something that’s outdated in early 2026. Secondly, the two-prong design is a bit fiddly when connecting the Xiaomi smartwatch. It would be significantly easier if Xiaomi, like Samsung and OnePlus, would rely on a universal magnet design.

Aside from the charger, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is a virtually uncompromising smartwatch. It runs on the latest Wear OS 6 operating system and is powered by Qualcomms Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset and also features the energy-saving BES2800 chip for less demanding tasks.

Extremely large battery

What’s truly impressive is the battery. Thanks to the new silicon-carbon technology, the Xiaomi Watch 5 boasts a powerful 930 mAh battery. That’s even more impressive compared to the massive 648 mAh battery of the OnePlus Watch 3 and currently in a class of its own. Xiaomi claims a battery life of up to 6 days, which should represent a new record for a fully-fledged Wear OS smartwatch with a comprehensive app ecosystem.

The watch features a 47 mm stainless steel case and a flat, durable sapphire crystal over the 1.54-inch AMOLED display. The panel itself has a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits, making it easily readable even in bright sunlight. It weighs 56 grams without the strap.

Xiaomi’s design emphasizes timeless elegance with its silver and black casing. The rotating crown, which also serves as a push button, is located on the right side. The workout button is positioned below it.

Overall, the Xiaomi Smartwatch brings a high-end package including a barometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, and blood oxygen measurement. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.4, an eSIM is also available as an option for data connectivity.

We can wholeheartedly recommend it and the prices in our Xiaomi Watch 5 price comparison should fall soon.
