Redmi Turbo 5 Pro: Geekbench test with new MediaTek chipset
The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro has just appeared in the first Geekbench tests, which could provide clues about MediaTek’s upcoming chipsets. The smartphone’s model number, 2602BRT18C, matches the one we saw a few weeks ago in a 3C certification.
The same smartphone is supposedly using the MediaTek Dimensity 9500e chipset. The two screenshots above show the corresponding Geekbench results: The motherboard is listed as “dash”. The CPU has eight cores with one 3.73 GHz prime core, three 3.30 GHz performance cores, and four 2.40 GHz efficiency cores. The GPU is an Immortalis G925 MC12 with a standard clock speed of 339 MHz and a boost clock speed of up to 622 MHz.
These CPU clock speeds and this GPU correspond to the Dimensity 9400+ chip, which features one Cortex-X925 at 3.73 GHz, three Cortex-X4s at 3.30 GHz, and four Cortex-A720s at 2.40 GHz. This is quite plausible, since the Dimensity 9400e was a rebranded 9300+. Accordingly, the 9500e is likely based on the 9400+.
Redmi Turbo 5 Pro with huge 9,000 mAh battery
Aside from the chipset, rumors suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro will feature a massive 9,000 mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging. It is also expected to have a 1.5K LTPS OLED display and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Other rumored specifications include a metal frame and stereo speakers.
Xiaomi also teased a Redmi Turbo 5 Max last week, and there will also be a standard model. The Max will be priced around 2,500 CNY (305 EUR/360 USD/32,500 ₹).
The first model of the Turbo 4 Series was released on January 2nd, 2025, but that date has already passed. The Turbo 4 Pro, which also boasted a massive battery, was released at the end of April. Therefore, we expect the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro to hit the market around the same time. Given the numerous benchmark tests on Geekbench, perhaps even a little earlier.
