Huawei Pura 80 Ultra teardown shows interchangeable lenses
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra was introduced last week, and thanks to YouTuber Yang Changshun, we can already get a glimpse of its inner workings.
In a 14-minute video he disassembles the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra into his Individual parts. The teardown, as you might expect, boils down to one very specific highlight— The movable camera module with two telephoto lenses above a single 1/1.28-inch sensor.
Changshun had to cut open the dual-zoom camera module to get a glimpse inside. Some of the images above were taken at high magnification to document the teardown.
The dual zoom module moves an 83mm f/2.4 lens (3.7x) and a 212mm f/3.6 lens (9.4x) over the largest zoom sensor of any smartphone. The medium telephoto lens covers the entire 50MP image sensor, while the telephoto lens covers 12.5MP. The lenses move over a motorized mechanism consisting of around 140 components.
Huawei has once again lived up to its reputation as an extremely innovative company, especially when it comes to mobile camera technology.
