Xiaomi Poco F7 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in Geekbench test
The Poco F7 Pro and the F7 Ultra use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets, respectively. The base model is still missing, which will be released this month and also features an 8-series chip under the hood: the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
A new Geekbench 6.4.0 test of the Poco F7 with the model code Xiaomi 25053PC47G now confirms the chipset again. In addition to the CPU clock speeds, the Adreno 825 GPU is particularly suggestive of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which is currently the only chip with this graphics chip. The single-core result of 1,937 points and the multi-core performance of 6,021 points also speak for Xiaomi’s latest flagship-killer processor.
The first smartphones with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 are already available. These include the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which will form the basis for the F7. The Redmi features a 6.83-inch 120 Hz 12-bit display, a 50+8 MP dual camera, and a massive 7,550 mAh battery with 90W wired charging. It comes with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and between 256 GB and 1 TB of storage.
Poco F7 tested with 12 GB RAM
According to the Geekbench test, the Poco F7 we tested had 12 GB of RAM. Himanshu Tandon, head of Poco India, published a survey on June 10 asking: “What should be the ideal entry-level variant for a powerful device with a flagship chipset?” The result was overwhelmingly 12 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is manufactured on TSMC’s 4 nm node (N4P). Like the previous 8s chips, this one uses ARM Cortex-based Kryo cores instead of the new Oryon cores found in the Snapdragon 8 Elite and X chips. These include one 3.2 GHz Cortex-X4 core, three 3.0 GHz A720 cores, two 2.8 GHz A720 cores, and two 2.0 GHz A720 cores. However, cores from the A5xx series are no longer installed.
