Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in the drop test
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is protected by the latest Gorilla Glass as usual, and this year that’s Gorilla Armor 2 glass. It was surprising that this new glass seems to scratch more easily than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. But glass that scratches more easily generally holds up better to impacts – you can usually optimize for one or the other. With that in mind, does Gorilla Armor 2 protect the S25 Ultra better against impacts? This is what PBKreviews’ new video shows us, using a series of drop tests on concrete.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Gorilla Armor 2 glass is said to survive drops from 2.2 meters onto concrete, according to Samsung. In addition to a series of controlled drop tests, PBKreviews compared its performance to that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra to determine any improvements in durability.
Drop Test Results:
1. Drop – Display Down (Screen Drop)
Scenario: Phone was dropped from head height onto concrete and landed directly on the display.
Results:
- No cracks on the screen.
- Small scratches on the frame, mostly removable residue.
- Touchscreen and display remain fully functional.
2. Drop – Backward Drop
Scenario: Dropped on the back to assess camera and back durability.
Results:
- More scratches on the frame, but these were mostly superficial.
- A light scratch on the bottom telephoto lens ring.
- No major damage; screen and core functions remained intact.
3. Drop – Side Drop
Scenario: Phone was dropped from head height onto its side.
Results:
- Additional scratches on the frame.
- Some debris on the camera rings that was easily brushed off.
- No cracks; screen continued to work fine.
4. Drop – Drop on Bottom Edge
Scenario: Dropped on bottom edge to assess frame durability and impact on S Pen.
Results:
- S Pen popped out but only sustained a minor scratch.
- Additional scratches on the frame were present.
- No broken glass, damaged camera lens, or touchscreen malfunctions.
- Phone turned on and worked as expected.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra showed exceptional durability in the drop test. Despite repeated drops on concrete, the screen remained intact, with only minor scratches on the frame.
