Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra: more Geekbench tests
On Thursday, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The test result surpassed Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 chip. Now another Galaxy S24 Ultra with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip has appeared on Geekbench, but this time with 12 GB of RAM. Funnily enough, it performed worse, which suggests that Samsung is still testing diligently.
The key takeaway here is that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will actually exclusively use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets. Because one of the devices is reportedly intended for the USA and the other for the global market. The other interesting fact is that the main core only ran at 3.30 GHz. While that’s higher than the 3.21GHz we saw on the Exynos 2400, it’s lower than the 3.36GHz in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The upcoming Samsung Exynos 2400 chipset also appeared on Geekbench and ran at the aforementioned 3.21 GHz. This could only have been a Samsung Galaxy S24 or S24+. This resulted in 2,067 single-core points and a multi-core score of 6,520 points. For comparison: the Galaxy S23 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 scored 1,979 and 5,148 points in the same tests. That’s an improvement of about 5% on the new Cortex-X4 prime core and 22% on the multi-core tests.
According to rumors, only the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will get Exynos 2400 CPUs. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, should only have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips under the hood.
