Oppo Reno16 and Reno16 Pro going global with other chipsets
Exactly one month after their announcement in China, the Oppo Reno16 and Reno16 Pro are now launching globally, albeit with some changes. The most significant difference lies in the choice of chipset: the global Reno16 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super, while the Chinese version features a Dimensity 9500s. The standard Reno16 model has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The Pro model is available with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, while the standard model comes with either 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage or 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

That’s not the only change, however: The global Oppo Reno16 Pro has a smaller 6,700 mAh Si-C battery compared to the 7,000 mAh battery of the Chinese version. The standard version also comes with a 6,700 mAh Si-C battery in some regions, while European devices have an even smaller capacity of 6,000 mAh. All Reno16 devices support 80W SuperVOOC wired charging.
But there’s also good news: The global Reno16 Pro features a display with a faster 144Hz refresh rate. It’s a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, just like the Reno16, though its refresh rate is limited to 120Hz. Both panels achieve a maximum local brightness of 3,600 nits and are equipped with in-display optical fingerprint sensors.
The camera setup of the Pro model is exactly the same as that of the Chinese model. It features a 200 MP main camera with Samsung’s S5KHP5 sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (GC50F6), and a 50 MP telephoto lens (Samsung JN5) with 3.5x optical zoom.
The Oppo Reno16 Pro will be available in Pop White and Starlight Black. Check out the white version and its 3D Pop Planet design on TikTok. The 12/512GB version starts at €1,099. Orders placed before July 31st will receive a €200 discount.
Oppo Reno16
The regular Oppo Reno16 features the same telephoto and ultrawide lenses, but is equipped with a lower-resolution 50-megapixel main camera and a Sony LYT-600 sensor. Both smartphones run Android 16 with the ColorOS 16 user interface and offer IP68/IP69/P69K water and dust resistance.
The Reno16 is available in Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple. In Europe, the Reno16 starts at €899 for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Orders placed before July 31st will receive a €100 discount.
The Reno16 series will be available for general sale from July 3rd.
