Oppo Reno16 and Reno16 Pro unveiled with 200MP camera

The Oppo Reno16 series was released in China today. The lineup initially includes the Reno16 Pro and the Reno16. Both smartphones feature a triple-camera system with a 200MP main sensor and are available in three colors. However, they differ in their other specifications.
Oppo Reno16 series with MediaTek chipsets
The Oppo Reno16 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. The Reno16, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.32-inch OLED panel and is equipped with the Dimensity 8550 Super chip.

Both mobile phones offer a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a resolution of 1.5K, a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits, high-frequency PWM dimming and are equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner.


The rear camera on both smartphones is identical. It features a 200MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, also with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 116-degree field of view. On the front, both smartphones offer a 50MP camera for selfies and video calls.

7,000 mAh batteries
The Oppo Reno16 Pro features a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The standard Reno16 model, on the other hand, is equipped with a smaller 6,700 mAh battery that only supports 80W wired charging.



Both smartphones run OriginOS 16 and offer features such as dual SIM, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared transmitter, and IP69K certification. The Reno16 Pro offers Wi-Fi 7, while the Reno16 is limited to Wi-Fi 6.



The Oppo Reno16 Pro is available in Dreamy Blue, Heart-Fluttering Stars, and Moonlit Night Black. The Reno16 is available in Galaxy Purple, Heart-Fluttering Stars, and Moonlit Night Black.
Prices
Both Oppo smartphones are available for pre-order and will be released on May 29th. The Reno16 Pro starts at 4,499 CNY (569 €/660 US dollars) for the 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage version. The 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage versions cost 4,899 CNY (619 €/720 US dollars), and the 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage version costs 5,299 CNY (670 €/780 US dollars).
The Reno16, on the other hand, is available starting at 3,499 CNY (442 €/515 US dollars) for the model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There is also a variant with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for 3,999 CNY (505 €/590 US dollars), one with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 3,899 CNY (493 €/575 US dollars), and one with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for 4,299 CNY (543 €/635 US dollars). The high-end model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage costs 4,899 CNY (619 €/720 US dollars).
