Leak: Galaxy S25 FE with larger battery and 45W charging
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will receive some premium features, according to a new leak, including an LTPO panel for its 6.7-inch display with a variable refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. However, it will still be a 1080p+ panel with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, unlike the Galaxy S25+, which has a 6.7-inch 1440p+ display with Victus 2.
The new FE also features a 200 mAh increase in battery capacity, bringing its total to 4,900 mAh. Even more important is support for 45W charging, which is gradually becoming more common in new Galaxy models. Although many still work with 25 watts, including the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE. Wireless charging isn’t explicitly mentioned, so it’s likely the standard 15 watts that are common in the more expensive Samsung smartphones.
Interestingly, Samsung will use the Exynos 2400 chipset for the Galaxy S25 FE – not the 2400e, which we saw in the Galaxy S24 FE. It’s essentially the same chipset, but the non-E version runs at higher clock speeds, so we can expect a slight performance boost, but nothing more.
Benchmarks have shown 8 GB of RAM, but a 12 GB option seems unlikely. Storage will be available in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB capacities. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 FE will receive software support for seven years after launch, similar to the premium S-series models.
The only camera likely to receive an upgrade is the selfie camera. It is said to have a 12 MP sensor (compared to 10 MP last year). If the hardware is the same as in the S25, it would feature an autofocus lens. The cameras on the back appear to be the same as last year: a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP 3x telephoto camera, and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to be 7.4 mm thin
It’s not yet known when Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 FE, but the leaks so far have painted a pretty accurate picture. The new FE will be a mix of flagship features and some more affordable components. It will largely have the same design as last year, with the switch to Armor Aluminum allowing for a slimmer and lighter design – 7.4 mm thin and 190 g heavy, compared to 8.0 mm and 213 g for last year’s model.
The last two Galaxy S FE models launched in early October, so this is the most likely time for the next Fan Edition.
