Samsung Galaxy S25+: Very easy to repair
The latest Samsung Galaxy S25+ teardown video from PBKreviews evokes a slight sense of déjà vu, as Samsung hasn’t made any significant changes to the phone’s internals, making you think you’re looking at last year’s Galaxy S24+. And yet there are a few welcome improvements. The first improvement is the pull tab that holds the battery in place, an evolution of the older tabs. According to the video, the new tab is much easier to remove than the S24+’s.
With the Samsung Galaxy S25+’s battery out of the way, we can see the other improvement – the vapor chamber is larger. Samsung says the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 40% larger vapor chamber than its predecessor, but we’re not sure of the exact figure for the Plus model. The vapor chamber is also significantly larger, though.
It remains to be seen what this means for the Samsung Galaxy S25+’s sustained load and how the chipset will stay cool under sustained fire. Early testing of the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggests sustained power is an issue despite the larger chamber. Since the S25+ uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset as the S25 Ultra, we expect similar results.
Despite the easier-to-remove battery pull tabs, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ still received a 9/10 repair rating – the same as the S24+ last year – due to some minor concerns about overall repairability and ease of screen replacement.
