The OnePlus 13 will be a top-of-the-range flagship phone, according to many previous rumors, and will be released this October. Its display is said to meet the highest standards, and now some new technical data about the panel has leaked in China. It is a BOE X2 panel with a 2K resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and of course LTPO technology.

The OnePlus 13 will also integrate an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor into the display, which should lead to faster and more accurate unlocking. The display will be gently curved on all sides, which apparently continues to be very popular with Chinese smartphone manufacturers. In addition, according to the source, the peak brightness is significantly higher compared to the OnePlus 12, while at the same time offering significantly better eye protection.

The OnePlus 13 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is also due to be unveiled later this month. There is also up to 24 GB of RAM. The OnePlus phone also supports magnetic charging of its 6,000mAh battery, as well as 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.

OnePlus 13 appears in Qualcomm’s latest teaser video

In addition, Qualcomm has shared a teaser video showcasing its upcoming Oryon CPU, which will be at the heart of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The video itself doesn’t reveal anything significant except for the seemingly unreleased OnePlus 13. From what we can see, the rear design of the phone pictured is similar to that of the OnePlus 12 with the off-center circular camera island design.

Four cameras can be seen in the OnePlus 13’s camera ring. The huge main camera sits in the middle, the ultra-wide-angle camera sits at the top left, a portrait camera at the bottom right, and a periscope telephoto lens at the bottom left. There’s also the LED flash at the top right.

It’s no secret that the OnePlus 13 will run on the next Snapdragon flagship chip. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit event is scheduled for October 22-24, by the way. Traditionally, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 should hit the stage right on the first day. Shortly after, OnePlus will also drop the covers.

As for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, rumors suggest that the naming scheme will change again. The chip could be called Snapdragon 8 Elite or Snapdragon 8 Ultra. In any case, Qualcomm is trying to highlight the big step forward in terms of performance and perhaps efficiency. Some also believe that the chip will be closer to the Snapdragon X Elite series and is actually a watered-down version of the latter. This theory would also fit the new name.
