Two benchmarks of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 show extremely high values in the single and multi-core tests.

Early leaks about the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset claimed that it will be 10% faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The two chips have certainly traded blows, but that’s old news now – attention is already turning to the upcoming Dimensity 9400 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Two screenshots on a Vietnamese forum now revealed benchmark tests of both processors based on Geekbench 6.1 and AnTuTu 10.

According to the screenshots, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 maintains the lead in single-core performance. But it loses in the multi-core Geekbench test, which was also the case with the 2023 chips. Looking at the AnTuTu test, the MediaTek chipset has a 10% higher overall score. Compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the Dimensity 9300, the new chips show massive performance improvements. Assuming, of course, that these results are correct.

The results are on the order of 50% higher, which seems extremely high for a generational upgrade. But the results could actually be correct, as the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station also suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will reach 4.0 GHz on its main core. The predecessor was “only” 3.3 GHz. With such performance, only the Apple A17 Pro from the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with 3.78 GHz is currently remotely close.
