Teaser: Honor Magic V3 will be even thinner than Magic V2
The Honor Magic V2 has been the thinnest foldable smartphone in a large format since its launch in July last year. The thickness of 9.9 mm when folded was a pretty tough nut to crack for the competition. But Honor has by no means rested on its laurels.
The brand announced on the Chinese social network Weibo that the upcoming “Honor Magic V3 will raise the bar once again” when it comes to how thin such a foldable device can be. Unfortunately, the Chinese did not get more specific and simply pointed out again that the Magic V2 is still the thinnest foldable at 9.9 mm.
However, there was also a new tip on X, according to which the Honor smartphone will not fall below a thickness of 9 mm, but will still be thinner than its predecessor. With that in mind, the target range is between 9mm and 9.98mm. The same source also claims that the Honor Magic V3 is based on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In addition to 5.5G, satellite connectivity is also available in the Chinese market. But the weight is still said to be just between 220 and 229g.
The battery is said to be between 5,000 and 5,990mAh and support 66W wired charging. There is also said to be a 50MP “eagle eye camera” and an “ultra-thin” USB Type-C port. Whatever that means in practice. Previous rumors said that the Honor Magic V3 will be released in July. The fact that the brand has now dropped the first official teaser seems to confirm that.
