Honor Magic Flip: battery capacity leaked
There have long been rumors that Honor wants to enter the flip-foldable market. The company already confirmed that it is actively considering the form factor, but will not rush into it. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station now suggests that Honor’s first flip-foldable will come onto the market in the first quarter of 2024 with a 4,500 mAh battery. This would give the Honor Magic Flip the largest battery capacity in its class.
The new tip also suggests that Honor will continue to focus on vertically foldable smartphones. Both the Honor V Purse 2 and the Magic V3 are currently in the starting blocks, both of which will come onto the market with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets. Honor is also reportedly working on satellite communications and a variable aperture main camera. However, these features are planned for the flagship smartphones of the Magic6 series, which are also scheduled to come onto the market in the first quarter of 2024.
Honor MagicOS 8: Closed Beta started
All of these new Honor smartphones could already hit the market with the upcoming MagicOS 8 interface. The current MagicOS 7 launched almost a year ago and Honor is currently working hard on its successor. A new post in the Honor community forum in China has now confirmed that the closed beta test of MagicOS 8 will start with the Magic5 and the Magic V2. Excitingly, the beta will also include support for Google Play Services.
Honor Magic5 or Magic V2 owners in China who want to test the MagicOS 8 closed beta can register using this form. Honor will then provide a more detailed closed beta release timeline and another registration form on a first-come, first-served basis. More details about MagicOS 8 are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
