Meta AI chatbot gets major update

Meta has an AI chatbot called Meta AI that is continuously gaining intelligence. Recently, Meta announced that the chatbot has received a memory upgrade, which means it is now able to remember additional details given to it in individual chats on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The expanded memory is intended to personalize future responses and make them even more useful and relevant to the user.

You have the option to tell Meta AI to remember information about you (such as your preferences), and it also captures important details depending on the context. For example, you ask for breakfast recommendations and it suggests something with meat. If you then indicate that you are vegan, it remembers that information and uses it for future recipe recommendations. You can delete the stored information at any time. This feature is only rolling out in the US and Canada.
Meta AI offers greater personalization. For example, it can give you a recommendation for a weekend activity with your family, like tickets to a country music show at your local concert hall. This recommendation is based on your home location, which you have listed on Facebook, your previous interests in live performances by country artists, and the information that you have a partner and two young children.
The update is only rolling out in the US and Canada, but not only for WhatsApp and Messenger, but also for Instagram.
