The OnePlus 15 is scheduled to be unveiled in China on October 27. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has already teased the phone’s design and key features. This includes the camera setup, display specifications, and battery details.

OnePlus 15 Camera Features Revealed: 3.5x Optical Zoom

In a post on Weibo, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will be equipped with Oppo’s Lumo Condensed Light Imaging System. It will also feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup.

The OnePlus 15’s periscope telephoto camera has a 3.5x optical zoom (equivalent to 85 mm), and the main camera can record 4K Dolby video at 120 frames per second. The latter is based on a Sony LYT-700 sensor.

7,300 mAh battery with 120-watt charging

OnePlus’s upcoming flagship smartphone will also feature a very large 7,300 mAh battery. In China, it charges via cable at a fast 120 watts and wirelessly at 50 watts.

The global version of the phone was also tested on the Geekbench website with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12 GB of RAM, and Android 16.

It achieved 3,615 points in the single-core test and 10,261 points in the multi-core test, which fits well with the results we’ve seen so far from Qualcomm’s flagship chip.

Cooling system

There’s also a new teaser about the updates to the OnePlus 15’s cooling system and gaming performance. It’s an improved Glacier cooling system with a larger vapor chamber, whose steel walls ensure better heat dissipation. This makes the structure thinner, creating more space inside the phone.

In addition, OnePlus uses a new Glacier Supercritical Aerogel for thermal insulation, keeping the phone’s exterior cooler for longer while gaming. The phone also features improved bypass charging, a new network chip for better cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a new display chip for better touch synchronization.

The OnePlus 15 is scheduled to launch in China on October 27 alongside the Ace 6. In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the very large battery, it also features a very fast 165 Hz display. The new OxygenOS 16 is used as the interface.
