Xiaomi today started teasing the upcoming Redmi K70E, which could hit the market as part of the Poco F6 series. The Chinese have confirmed that the K70E will be unveiled alongside the regular K70 and the K70 Pro at the end of the month. As usual with Redmi, the K series is the brand’s top cell phone, just like the F series from Poco.

The teasers contain probably the most important detail of the Xiaomi Poco F6 / Redmi K70E – the just-unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset under the hood. However, this was not the normal 8300, but the 8300 Ultra version. What this Ultra stands for we do not yet know. At worst, it’s just marketing. However, the Xiaomi cell phone with the chip already cut a pretty good figure in a Geekbench benchmark five days ago.

The teasers also celebrate the performance of the Poco F6 / Redmi K70E in benchmark tests, albeit on major Geekbench rival AnTuTu. According to Xiaomi, a prototype there managed 1,526,328 points. Continuous performance doesn’t seem to be a problem either, probably thanks to a powerful cooling system. After about an hour of playing in an open-world game in an ambient temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, Xiaomi still reports 58.86 fps. The K70E could therefore become an insider tip for gamers for whom Xiaomi’s flagship models are too expensive.

The last teaser is about the topic of AI, which no manufacturer will be able to avoid in 2023. The generative AI on board will, among other things, provide subtitles in real time and create entire stories and even photos based on text.
