Oppo Reno16 F and Reno16 FS unveiled with 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera
Oppo unveiled the Reno16 and Reno16 Pro in China last month and today announced the models for the international market – albeit with some technical changes. The Oppo Reno16 F and Reno16 FS were also introduced as the newest members of the series.
Oppo Reno16 F
The Oppo Reno16 F features a 6.57-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, a peak brightness of 1400 nits, and a pixel density of 397 ppi. The display also includes an integrated optical fingerprint reader for biometric authentication and a centrally located cutout for the selfie camera.
Like the global Reno16 and Reno16 Pro models, the Reno16 F also features a 3D Pop Planet design on the back, but this is exclusive to the Pop White model. The back also houses a square triple-camera setup: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom and OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide camera with autofocus.
The ultra-wide-angle selfie camera on the front features a 50MP sensor with autofocus and a 100° field of view. Like the main camera, it can record 4K video. In addition, the Reno16 F offers the “4K Auto Straighten Video” function, which records in 4K with horizon stabilization and corrects tilts of up to 5° to ensure straight shots even when moving.
The Oppo Reno16 F is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity Energy 7300 chipset and features up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The smartphone offers up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage and comes pre-installed with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. However, Oppo has not yet announced how many years of software support the Reno16 F will receive.
The Reno16 F features a 7,000 mAh battery with 80W charging support. However, in Europe, the smartphone can only be charged at a maximum of 45W. Other highlights include an AI Snap Key function, splash touch support for the screen, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings. The Oppo Reno16 F will be available in Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple.
Oppo Reno16 FS
Now let’s turn to the Oppo Reno16 FS, which, according to Oppo’s German website, is identical to the German Reno16 F except for its storage capacity. The German Reno16 F has 256 GB of internal storage, while the Reno16 FS has 512 GB.
Furthermore, the Reno16 FS and the German Reno16 F feature 6,500 mAh batteries with 45-watt charging support. The remaining specifications and functions of the Reno16 FS and the German Reno16 F are identical to those of the international Reno16 F.
Prices
The Oppo Reno16 F with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs €549, while the Reno16 FS with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs €649. Both smartphones are available in white and purple and can be pre-ordered via the Oppo website.
