Today, there were two new leaks about the colors surrounding the Apple iPhone 17 series. According to them, the iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max and the iPhone 17 Air will get a new color option. A second leak also revealed the Liquid Silicone cases for the new iPhones in various colors.

Two new colors for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple will offer the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in the new color orange. Gurman made this claim in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, adding that the new iPhone 17 Air, which replaces the iPhone 16 Plus, will come in a new light blue color.

We’ve heard several rumors that the new color of the iPhone 17 Pro will be an orange shade. Previously, the color was described as copper. Dummy models have surfaced that allegedly feature all the colors Apple has chosen for its high-end smartphones. The other colors are black, white, and dark blue.

The new, lighter blue color option for the iPhone 17 Air has also been discussed several times. It was first mentioned by Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital, who speculates that this shade of blue will be the focus of Apple’s marketing for the new device. The color is described as significantly brighter than any of Apple’s previous blues and could appear almost white in low-light conditions.

Gurman hasn’t mentioned any other colors for Apple’s new iPhone lineup, but this is the first time he’s mentioned orange and light blue for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air, respectively. So, there’s a good chance there’s some truth to the rumors.

Apple has opted for muted colors for its latest titanium iPhone Pro models. For the iPhone 16 Pro, Apple offered the new color Desert Titanium. The iPhone 16 Pro is also available in Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Black Titanium. Apple is expected to use a new material mix of glass and aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pro models. So, some new colors wouldn’t be a surprise.

Liquid Silicone cases for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Apple is also working on new Liquid Silicone cases for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Images of the alleged case colors were shared today by tipster Majin Bu. The range includes eight variants with a matte finish and soft-touch texture, including Dark Orange, Pale Orange, Grass Green, Celadon, Misty Purple, Gray Blue, Dark Blue, and Midnight Black. The cases also feature several cutouts for attaching a lanyard, which is sold separately.

Bu claims that Apple initially tested other colors, including Black, Rock Gray, Carambola, Tannin, and Sea Green, but “these appear to have been rejected.” The leaker further suggests that some of these shades may still appear as seasonal variants that Apple could release at a later date.

Bu had previously published images of new so-called TechWoven cases for the iPhone 17 models, which are supposedly intended to replace the fabric-like FineWoven cases that Apple discontinued with the launch of the iPhone 16. Bu believes that Apple’s Liquid Silicone cases are intended to appeal to a wider audience than the TechWoven cases. This is also consistent with the lower price and more diverse color palette.

It is still unclear whether these cases are authentic. The name “Liquid Silicone” would at least fit the new Liquid Glass design of iOS 26 quite well. However, Bu has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple rumors. Most recently, they were correct in their statement that iPadOS 26 will add a Mac-like menu bar to the iPads.

The iPhone 17 series is just a few weeks away. Apple’s iPhone event this year is rumored to be scheduled for Tuesday, September 9. If Apple follows the traditional pattern, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 will begin on Friday, September 12. The new devices are expected to arrive with customers and in retail stores the following Friday, September 19.
