Samsung Galaxy A56 to charge faster than the Galaxy S25
There was a very similar news for the Samsung Galaxy A36, and now comes the second confirmation for the Samsung Galaxy A56. FCC documents show that the phone with model code SM-A566E/DS will also support 45W charging. This is the dual-SIM version of the upcoming Samsung phone. According to them, the phone is rated for 10V at 4.5A charging, which works out to 45W. And yes, that’s more than the 25W of the brand new flagship Galaxy S25.
However, the FCC only tested with the EP-TA800, a relatively old charger that can manage a maximum of 25W. We’re not sure why the testers chose this model, but it’s not like the Samsung Galaxy A56 ships with a charger. The phone (at least the version tested by the FCC) supports the following 5G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 77, 78. Local connectivity is supported by Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.
The Samsung Galaxy A56 is expected to have the new Exynos 1580 chipset and come with a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy A36, on the other hand, is expected to be powered by either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the 7s Gen 2 and also feature a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging. About a month ago, the features and price of the expected Galaxy A56 were leaked, with the price said to be £439 (€529/$551), the same as its predecessor Galaxy A55.
Incidentally, this is not the first Samsung mid-range model to feature 45W charging. That honor goes to the Galaxy M55 from March last year, which also came in several versions as the M, F and C series with almost identical hardware.
