Samsung announced the Galaxy M55 in Brazil today. Galaxy M series phones tend to have similar specs to their Galaxy A series counterparts. In this case, however, the M55 comes with several changes. These include a larger display, a different chipset and faster charging compared to the Galaxy A55. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display offers FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, and a 50-megapixel front camera , which is housed in a punchhole.

On the back there is a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS as well as an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The Samsung Galaxy M55 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset along with 8/256GB of storage. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The smartphone launches One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 with a guarantee of four Android updates and five years of security patches.

The Galaxy M55 has a 5,000 mAh battery with Samsung 45 Watt Super Fast Charging 2.0. This means that 70% of the capacity ends up in the battery in 30 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is available in dark blue and light green colors and costs BRL 2,999 (€555/US$600) in the 256GB storage version. The device is already available for pre-order in Brazil and is expected to be available in other countries soon.
