The new 15th generation of Xiaomi phones is just around the corner. We already have a full spec sheet for both models, as well as an announcement date set for October 20. Thanks to some early renders, we also have a pretty good idea of what the Xiaomi 15 Pro will look like.

Now, a device that looks like a Xiaomi 15 Pro has been spotted in the wild, featuring the same camera module layout as the renders above. One could easily mistake the said smartphone for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, but what’s special is the LED flash that is now located outside the main camera island. Other than that, the general design language seems to be unchanged from the Xiaomi 14 Pro. By the way, the person holding the phone in the picture is Xiaomi Group Vice President Wang Xiaoyan. And who else should have such early access to prototypes if not Xiaomi’s C-suite.

The new camera module and its redesign most likely had a specific reason – to make room so that a periscope telephoto camera could finally fit into the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It is said to be a 50 MP telemacro lens with five times optical zoom, which creates a minimum focus distance of 30 cm. The main camera also has a resolution of 50 MP on a 1/1.3 inch sensor with an f/1.4 aperture and was developed together with Leica. Finally, there is a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera to round off the package and a 32 MP selfie camera.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is also rumored to come with a 6.78 inch quad-curved AMOLED display from TCL. The resolution is 2K and the refresh rate is 120 Hz. The smartphone is powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The battery has a capacity of a pleasing 6,000 mAh. It supports wired charging with 90 watts, wireless charging with 80 watts and wireless reverse charging with 10 watts. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to be available in black, white and silver and there will also be a special titanium edition again. In addition, the Chinese are likely to guarantee five major operating system updates.
