nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version and Z60S Pro introduced
The nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version and Z60S Pro are the latest devices from the ZTE subsidiary. The Z60 Ultra gets an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and new colors. The Z60S Pro, on the other hand, offers a slightly larger main camera sensor and additional AI camera features. Both devices are also powered by nubia’s new AI service suite.
nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version
The big change with the nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version is the slightly faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with a top-of-the-line 3.4GHz Cortex-X4 CPU core and an improved 1GHz GPU. Nubia claims that the improved processor will help the Z60 Ultra excel in AI tasks. It is capable of running AI models with up to ten billion parameters on the device.
The front is dominated by the same 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Below that sits a 12-megapixel under-display camera (UDC) with a new algorithm for clearer selfies. The AI improvements are transferred to the cameras with the NeoVision AI Photography System 2.0. Nubia uses similar hardware to the regular Z60 Ultra. However, there is an upgrade for the 35 mm main camera, which gets a new sensor from the Sony 9 series. The 18 mm ultra-wide-angle lens gets a larger aperture, but remains at 50 MP resolution. The 64 MP periscope (85 mm) also gets an AI update for additional telephoto lens functions.
The software side is covered by Android 14 with nubia’s MyOS 14. The battery still has 6,000 mAh and also continues to charge at 80 watts via cable. The nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version is available in black and silver and starts at €729/$649/£649. Pre-orders are open from today, with open sales set to start on August 12 via nubia’s official website.
nubia Z60S Pro
The nubia Z60S Pro is the direct successor to last year’s Z50S Pro and retains all the key specs. However, there is a small change to the 35mm main camera, which has a larger sensor. Nubia also adds new AI features, including Magic Eraser, a starry sky algorithm, and a 65:24 ultra-wide cinematic aspect ratio.
The 8MP telephoto lens and 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens are carried over, as is the 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. The nubia Z60S Pro runs on Qualcomm’s older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also packs a 5,100mAh battery with 80W charging.
The nubia Z60S Pro is available in black, aquamarine and white and is priced from €669/$569/£569. Pre-orders start today, while open sales will start on August 12 via nubia’s official website.
