Xiaomi 15 Pro leak: No more variable aperture
In October, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, and Xiaomi apparently has the privilege of using it. So the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be the first smartphones to use the upcoming top-of-the-line chipset. The launch is also expected to take place in October.
According to prolific Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will also come with a new main camera with a large aperture and a resolution of 50 megapixels on a “super-large” sensor. However, this would also mean that the variable aperture of the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be retired. There will also be a 3x periscope zoom camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will be slightly thinner overall than its predecessor and, like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, will also have a micro-curved screen with “2K” resolution. In addition, there is an extra-large battery on board and there is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro was never officially offered outside of China. And the Xiaomi 15 Pro could unfortunately share the same fate. According to previous rumors, the 15 Pro’s ultrawide camera will also have a resolution of 50 megapixels and the main camera is said to use a 1-inch OmniVision OV50K sensor. The periscope zoom camera is reportedly based on a Sony IMX882 chip.
