OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite with OLED display and 50 MP OIS camera introduced

The new OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite takes over some of the functions of the Nord CE4, which makes it significantly better than its predecessor, the Nord CE 3 Lite. There is a slightly different model with the same name for India. The affordable smartphone leaves the LCD displays of its predecessors behind and for the first time uses an OLED panel made of the same emitting materials that are also used in the OnePlus 11.

The 6.67-inch display delivers a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (20:9) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits for the entire display, but reaches a brightness of up to 2,100 nits locally. The predecessor, on the other hand, stopped at 680 nits. In addition, the fingerprint sensor is now located under the display instead of on the side.

The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is equipped with a battery with 10% higher capacity and now comes in at 5,500 mAh. That’s just the capacity for the Indian model, though – the global version has a 5,110mAh battery instead. But that’s still 110mAh more than the CE 3 Lite. In any case, charging increases to 80W, so 100% take 52 minutes on the 5,500mAh variant. This larger battery is enough for 20 hours of uninterrupted YouTube marathons. Charging is done via the USB-C (USB 2.0) port using the included USB-A to C cable. Note, however, that only the Indian variant comes with the required charger. No adapter is included in Europe. Also, a USB-PD charger limits the charging speed to 55W.

Despite the increased battery capacity, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It comes in at 8.1mm and 191g versus 8.3mm and 195g for the Nord CE 3 Lite. Even better, the new model inherits the IP54 dust and water resistance of the regular CE4. This is a first for a CE Lite model. In addition, there is a microSD slot for additional storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are also stereo speakers with a 300% ultra volume mode and 5 watt reverse charging.
For some reason, however, the new Nord only features an older Snapdragon 695 chipset, just like the Nord CE 3 Lite and Nord CE 2 Lite. As before, there is also 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128 or 256 GB of storage (UFS 2.2). The new Sony LYT-600 main camera with a 50 megapixel 1/1.95 inch sensor also comes from the CE4. For the first time in the CE series, the lens has OIS, but beyond that you only get a 2 megapixel depth sensor.
The LYT-600 chip has 2x zoom in the sensor, however, the 108-megapixel sensor in the CE3 Lite offers 3x zoom. The 16-megapixel front camera remains unobtrusive, as does the 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. There are three colors – Super Silver, Mega Blue and the India-exclusive Ultra Orange.
