New hints about Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra
Samsung’s foldables are slowly starting to move. Depending on the day, we could get a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold6 Lite or a Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra. Today the rumor mill suggests the latter. A device with the model name SM-F958 has appeared in South Korea, which is said to be the new Z Fold Ultra.
The reason for this assumption has to do with Samsung’s naming scheme. The Galaxy Z Fold5 has the internal name SM-946, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 is also called SM-936. There is therefore good reason to assume that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 will have the model code SM-956. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, is also known as SM-928. Given this logic, one can therefore assume that normal devices end up on a 6 while Ultras end up on an 8. And the SM-F958 has already gone from a fold to the addition of “Ultra”.
Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have so far. The report’s source suggests that the device could end up being a South Korea-only device, which seems highly unlikely. Given Samsung’s usual approach would be to ship its Ultra models worldwide – including the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra.
Samsung should unveil the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 along with the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Ring in July. Initial renderings suggest that the new Samsung smartphone could look very similar to the current model.
