Huawei MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition introduced, MateBook D 16 2024 goes global
Huawei hosted a big event yesterday where we saw the international debuts of the MatePad Pro 13.2 and the FreeClip open-ear earbuds. But those weren’t the only new devices on stage. The Huawei MatePad Air PaperMatte is here and the Windows notebook MateBook D 16 2024 started its world tour.

The Huawei MatePad Air PaperMatte is a revised version of the MatePad Air with a matte, anti-reflective display and improved M-Pencil 2 support. The HarmonyOS tablet features an 11.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,840 x 2,800 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It also offers a Snapdragon 888 4G chipset, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The 8,300 mAh battery charges via cable with up to 40 watts.
The Huawei MatePad Air PaperMatte costs €649 ($700/₹58,380) and the retail box also includes a keyboard case.
Huawei MateBook D 16 2024
The Huawei MateBook D 16 2024 was introduced in China last month. It features a 16-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a peak brightness of up to 300 nits. Huawei has included a full-size keyboard with a dedicated number pad, a five-point touchpad, two speakers and two microphones.
The base model of the Huawei MateBook D16 2024 features a 13th generation Intel Core i5 processor and Intel UHD graphics. The high-end models instead rely on i7 and i9 processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. All models are equipped with 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1 TB M.2 SSDs of the 2280 variant.
The Huawei MateBook D16 2024 will launch in the UK and Europe in various configurations. Prices start at €999 ($1,077/₹89,848) for the 13th Gen Intel Core i5 model with 16GB of RAM and 500GB of storage. The maximum you pay is €1,399 ($1,509/₹125,823) for the Core i9 version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Pre-orders begin on January 8th, while open sales begin on January 22nd.
