Honor Magic6 certified with 66 watt charging
The Honor Magic6 series could be closer to launch than expected. The latest indication of this is a certification with China’s 3C authority, which usually indicates an impending reveal. The certification lists the Honor Magic6 as BVL-AN00 and describes the charger in detail. There are two adapters called HN-110600C00 and HW-110600C02 with a maximum charging power of 66 Watts (11V/6A). The charger can also output 10 watts or 40 watts. This is the same performance as the adapter that comes with the Honor Magic5 Pro.
Some reports suggested that the Honor Magic6 would increase the speed to 80 watts. These leaks are either false or only the Magic6 Pro gets more power and the base model remains at 66 watts. What is known so far is that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets will power the Magic6 series. The main camera is based on a 1/1.3-inch OV50K stacked sensor, while the periscope telephoto lens has a resolution of 160 megapixels.
In related news, the Honor Magic6’s potential operating system also came to light. Honor’s MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 is now available in a closed beta for the Magic4 and Magic5 series. Registrations are already open in China and will run until December 14th. In total there will be 3,000 slots for the Magic4 series and another 3,000 for the Magic5 series.
Interestingly, Honor started recruiting for the closed beta without announcing any new features for MagicOS 8.0. So participants basically go into the new Android 14 firmware blindly. Hopefully an open beta will follow soon, not to mention a stable update to MagicOS 8.0 at least for the Magic4 and Magic5 series.
