OnePlus 12 arrives on December 4th in three colors
OnePlus is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a big event on December 4th in China, where it will unveil the new flagship OnePlus 12 to local audiences. According to reliable tipster Max Jambor, the global launch is expected to start sometime in January 2024. The leak talks about the arrival of the OnePlus 12 series, which suggests more than one model. Last year only the OnePlus 11 came onto the market, so this year we could also see a more powerful 12 Pro or a weaker 12R or 12 Lite.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to get a BOE-developed 6.82-inch LTPO display with a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. The camera setup will feature a 48-megapixel dual-layer Lytia 808 wide-angle sensor from Sony. We also get a 48 megapixel ultra-wide and a 3x telephoto camera with a 64 megapixel OmniVision OV64B chip.
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will most likely sit at the helm. And a 5,400 mAh battery with 100 watt cable charging delivers the power. Fast wireless charging with 50 watts is also on board. This could make the OnePlus phone the premium smartphone with the longest endurance. However, it is still unclear whether OnePlus’ SuperVOOC standard will charge a little more slowly via American 110 volt sockets. This was also the case with the OnePlus 11.
Plus, OnePlus has just announced the colors for the upcoming OnePlus 12 – white, green and black. The company has also given some thought to this. White is a touch of empty space and green is a pale stone between thousands of rivers and mountains. Black represents ten years of hard work, a nod to the company’s tenth anniversary.
These colors will likely become the official options for the Chinese market. We do not yet know whether the global variant of the OnePlus 12 will launch in the same colors. The OnePlus Open, for example, is available in black in Europe and in green in the rest of the world.
