Xiaomi Poco X7: Curved display and Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip
The Poco X7 will launch on January 9 and will have IP68 and IP69 water resistance ratings. This information was revealed by Flipkart, an Indian online retailer, which is already promoting the X7 and X7 Pro on its website. Flipkart also revealed that the Poco smartphone will have a 1.5K 3D Curved AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and will support Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It will also have a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
The Indian retailer has also detailed the cameras on the Poco X7 Pro. The main camera of the smartphone will use the 50 MP Sony LYT 600 sensor and will have optical image stabilization (OIS). The secondary camera is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle unit, while the selfie camera has a 20MP sensor. The smartphone has a Director mode and supports 4K video recording at 60fps with OIS and EIS.
The regular Poco X7 will have a 50MP main camera, but neither Flipkart nor Poco have detailed the other cameras. However, we already have confirmation that prices for the X7 Pro will start at less than INR 30,000 (€340/$350). For that, you get a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, HyperOS 2, 90W charging, and a 6,000mAh battery (6,550mAh in India).
Poco X7 Geekbench review
The Poco X7 Pro is said to be a renamed Redmi Turbo 4, which was officially launched in China the day before yesterday. But we’ve heard far less about the “normal” X7, apart from seeing it in some renderings recently. Now the X7 has been discovered in the Geekbench database. It achieved a single-core score of 1,032 and a multi-core score of 2,926 points in the benchmark test.
The prototype of the Poco X7 ran on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset and had 8 GB of RAM. Other storage options may also be available at launch. It is disappointing to note, however, that the X7 will likely ship with Android 14, even though Android 15 has been available for several months. However, the device will probably run at least the new Xiaomi HyperOS 2.
The prototype tested is the version for India with the model number 24095PCADI – the last “I” typically stands for India at Xiaomi. The fact that it is the X7 was previously confirmed by various international certifications. Poco will also present the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition next Thursday.
