Redmi Turbo 4 / Poco X7 Pro tested with new Dimensity 8400 CPU
The Redmi Turbo 4 will be launched in early January as the first phone with MediaTek’s newly introduced Dimensity 8400 chipset. This will be the first time that an all-big-core CPU design has landed in the upper mid-range – there are only performance cores, no efficiency cores with low performance and low power consumption. The international launch will take place later as the rebranded Poco X7 Pro.
With this in mind, you may have wondered what to expect from this chip in terms of performance. Benchmarks are not necessarily indicators of good everyday usability. However, the more power, the more features are often on board, such as a 5G modem or the latest Bluetooth 5.4 standard. And today the Dimensity 8400 appeared in the Geekbench test, in a Redmi Turbo 4.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the Redmi Turbo 4 achieved a single-core score of 1,642 points and a multi-core score of 6,056 points in the Geekbench test in version 6.1.0. Geekbench shows the CPU configuration of the Dimensity 8400 as one core at 3.25 GHz, three cores at 3 GHz and four cores at 2.1 GHz. All based on the Cortex-A725 design.
The Redmi Turbo 4 prototype in the benchmark test had 16 GB of RAM on board and, unsurprisingly, ran Android 15. Of course, there will also be versions with other configurations. Rumor has it that the Xiaomi phone will be offered internationally under the name Poco X7 Pro.
