Poco M8x unveiled with Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and 7,900 mAh battery

Xiaomi today unveiled the Poco M8x, the latest addition to its M8 series. Powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, it is India’s first smartphone to feature this chip. It boasts up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via microSD card.



On the software side, the M8x runs HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, with Poco promising four generations of Android operating system upgrades and six years of security updates. The Poco M8x also features a 6.9-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

An 8-megapixel selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout in the display. On the back, there’s a 50-megapixel main camera, a secondary camera, and an LED flash. Power is supplied by a 7,900 mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Other features of the Poco smartphone include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP64 protection, two stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Poco M8x is available in leather green, black, and blue, with the green model featuring a vegan leather back cover. All three color options come with two storage configurations: 4/128 GB and 6/128 GB. Prices are INR 20,999 (EUR 188/USD 219) and INR 22,999 (EUR 206/USD 240), respectively. It launches on August 27th in India via Flipkart.
