Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold8 series and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22nd. Ahead of the launch, a new leak has revealed details about the weight and thickness of the upcoming foldable device.

According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Flip8 will weigh approximately 180 grams, making it 8 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Flip7, which weighs 188 grams. While the difference may seem minor on paper, the reduced weight could make the Flip8 feel more comfortable to hold.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 only 6.1 mm thick

The tipster also confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be 6.1 mm thick when unfolded. However, this figure excludes the rubber bezel around the inner display. Including the bezel, the smartphone is said to be 6.6 mm thick, which is roughly the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Previous leaks suggest that Samsung is planning an improved hinge design and a less visible display crease. Aside from these changes, it is expected to retain much of its predecessor’s hardware, including the external display, the Exynos 2600 chipset, the battery capacity, and the camera setup.
