Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro with larger battery and MagSafe
Rumors suggest that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S27 Pro in January, alongside the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Pro is said to be a smaller version of the Ultra and will not include the S Pen. It will reportedly feature a 6.47-inch display, the same main camera and ultrawide lens as the Ultra, but with a different telephoto lens.
If you’ve been wondering about the battery capacity of the Pro model, you probably assumed it would be lower than the Ultra model due to its slightly smaller size. However, it turns out that the absence of the S Pen can compensate for this somewhat. According to two new rumors currently circulating on X, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is said to have a battery with a capacity between 5,000 mAh and 5,300 mAh.
For a Chinese smartphone, that would be rather low these days, as Honor, Huawei, OnePlus, Realme, and vivo are setting new battery records weekly. For Samsung, however, it’s an excellent figure – the larger Galaxy S26 Ultra also has a 5,000 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro continues to use lithium-ion battery
According to the leak, the reason that even more isn’t possible is that Samsung continues to stick to conventional battery technology instead of switching to the new silicon-carbon batteries, which enable storage capacities of up to 10,000 mAh.
Another reason for the new camera design of the Galaxy S27 Pro, which strongly resembles the Samsung Galaxy S10 from 2019, is said to be MagSafe compatibility. Samsung appears to be using its own Exynos 2700 chipset.
