Huawei Watch Fit 5 series announced with bright AMOLED displays
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro launched their fifth generation at Huawei’s major launch event. The foldable Pura X Max, the Pura 90, the Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max as well as the Watch Buds 2 and the Watch Ultimate Star Diamond Edition also celebrated their premiere at the event.
Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro
Both models in the Huawei Watch Fit 5 series feature a familiar design, with the Fit 5 Pro boasting narrower bezels, allowing Huawei to incorporate a larger 1.92-inch AMOLED touchscreen display this time. The Pro version is equipped with 2.5D sapphire glass and a local peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
The Fit 5 (non-Pro version) features a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with 2,500 nits of brightness. Both versions continue to support always-on display (AOD) watch faces and are equipped with two buttons – a digital crown and a quick access button, both located on the right side.

Both Huawei smartwatches feature an aluminum middle case, but the Watch Fit 5 Pro also has a more elegant titanium bezel.
The Watch Fit 5 generation features updated 6-LED and 6-PPG optical heart rate sensors, as well as temperature sensors. The Pro version additionally offers ECG and depth measurement. Both watches are water-resistant up to 5 ATM and therefore suitable for swimming. However, only the Pro model is certified for freediving to a depth of 40 meters.
In terms of activity tracking, the watch offers the usual selection of sports modes as well as an updated cycling mode, similar to the one used by the Watch GT 6 Pro. Both versions sold in China also feature dual-band GNSS positioning and offer NFC and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity. Hopefully, all three features will be available in the global models as well.
You still get an integrated microphone and speaker, and Huawei has also added a recorder so you can capture meetings or ideas directly on your wrist.
Regarding battery life, Huawei states one week (7 days) with normal use and up to 10 days with less intensive use. In Always-on Display (AOD) mode, it should last for 4 days. The battery is charged via the included magnetic charger.
Prices
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 is available in purple, green, white, black, and silver. It costs 1,099 CNY (137 €/161 USD).
The Watch Fit 5 Pro is available in black, white, and orange. Prices start at 2,199 CNY (274 €/322 USD). Both watches will be available for general sale in China starting April 29th. Information regarding international availability is not yet available.
