vivo Y500i unveiled with large 7,200 mAh battery

vivo has unveiled a new Y500 series smartphone in China, featuring a large battery and a new design. The vivo Y500i joins the existing models Y500 and Y500 Pro, which were unveiled in China last year.

The vivo Y500i features a 7,200 mAh lithium-ion battery and supports 44-watt fast charging. It is powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

The front features a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution. The display offers a peak brightness of 1200 nits and includes a cutout for the selfie camera. As for the cameras, the Y500i has a single 50MP rear camera with autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture. A 5MP front-facing camera is also available for selfies.

Other specifications of the phone include IP68/69 protection, SGS Gold Label 5-star certification for durability, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an infrared sensor.

The vivo Y500i is 8.49 mm thick and weighs 219 grams. It is currently available in China in Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Gold, and Obsidian Black.

The smartphone costs 1,499 CNY (184 €/215 USD) for the base version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The model with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is available for 1,799 CNY (221 €/255 USD), and the variant with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs 1,999 CNY (245 €/285 USD). The variants with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, as well as 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, cost 1,999 CNY (245 €/285 USD) and 2,199 CNY (270 €/315 USD), respectively.
