vivo Y500 Pro with Dimensity 7400 and 200 MP camera is here
The vivo Y500 Pro is here, a slight upgrade compared to last year’s Y400 Pro. Thanks to a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, the smartphone is a bit faster. This is essentially the same chip as the 7300 in the Y400 Pro, but clocked 100 MHz higher.
The RAM remains at either 8 GB or 12 GB, a feature missing in the previous model. Less welcome, however, is the fact that the vivo Y500 Pro has switched from the faster UFS 3.1 storage to UFS 2.2 compared to its predecessor.
The vivo Y500 Pro features a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with Diamond Shield glass. It is slightly smaller than the 6.77-inch display of the previous model. The new smartphone is also slightly heavier.

Thanks to its IP68 and IP69 ratings, it is also better protected against environmental influences. It is also more shock-resistant and is the first smartphone in the industry to receive national reliability certification.
The second major improvement of the Y500 Pro compared to its predecessor is the battery. It now has a 7,000 mAh battery capacity (22% more) and still supports 90W fast charging.
The final improvement concerns the camera. While the camera system still consists of a single camera, it now boasts 200 megapixels on a larger 1/1.56-inch sensor. The selfie camera remains the same 32 MP camera and still features an f/2.5 aperture.
