vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G with 6,000 mAh batteries and Dimensity 6300 chips unveiled
vivo introduced two new affordable 5G smartphones in China today: the vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G. Both models feature an identical design and largely the same technical specifications. The smartphones are available now in China.
vivo Y50s 5G
The vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. On the front, the devices feature a 6.74-inch flat LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits.
vivo Y50e 5G
Both smartphones feature a 13 MP rear camera with an infrared sensor and LED flash. A pulsating light ring is also integrated into the camera module. A 5 MP camera in a teardrop-shaped cutout is available for selfies and video calls.
Both the vivo Y50s and the Y50e have a 6,000 mAh battery. However, the Y50s supports 44-watt fast charging, while the Y50e is limited to 15-watt fast charging.
Other specifications include IP64 certification, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphones run OriginOS 5 based on Android 15. They are 8.19 mm thick and weigh 204 grams.
The only difference between the two smartphones is the storage type. The vivo Y50s has UFS 2.2 storage, while the Y50e uses eMMC 5.1.
Prices
As for pricing, the vivo Y50s 5G starts at 1,799 CNY (220 €/260 USD) for the model with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It is also available in variants with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as well as 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which cost 1,999 CNY (244 €/285 USD) and 2,299 CNY (281 €/330 USD), respectively.
The vivo Y50e 5G is available in a single memory configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage and costs 1,499 CNY (183 €/215 USD). Both devices are available in Diamond, Platinum, and Sky Blue.
