Honor Power 2 with 10,080 mAh battery and Dimensity 8500 Elite unveiled
The Honor Power 2 is now officially available in China and features a 10,080 mAh Si/C battery, which Honor claims provides over 20 hours of continuous use. The manufacturer states that it can deliver over 26 hours of video playback, 17 hours of continuous navigation, or 14 hours of uninterrupted gaming.
It wasn’t that long ago that mobile phones with a battery capacity of over 5,000 mAh were inevitably bulky outdoor devices. But in recent years, silicon-carbon anode (Si/C) technology has triggered a revolution. This has allowed smartphone manufacturers to integrate batteries with higher energy density into their devices, and we have now surpassed the 10,000 mAh mark in a mobile phone with a thickness of less than 8 mm.
Honor Power 2 can charge other devices with up to 27 watts
The large battery features 80-watt fast charging, and you can even use the Power 2 as a power bank to charge other smartphones and devices with up to 27 watts. All of this is packed into a pleasantly slim 7.98 mm body, and the smartphone weighs just 216 grams.
Aside from the huge battery, the Honor Power 2 offers the usual features one would expect from a modern Android smartphone, including full IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection, as well as a large 6.79-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits and features a 16MP selfie camera and a fingerprint scanner.
The Honor Power 2 is also the first smartphone equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset. It features an octa-core CPU with an all-big-core design based on ARM Cortex-A725 cores. The main core clocks at 3.4 GHz, supported by three cores at 3.2 GHz and four cores at 2.2 GHz. Graphics are handled by a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, which achieved over 2.4 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks. It also features 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The Honor Power 2 also features a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
Prices
The Honor Power 2 is available in Midnight Black and Sunrise Orange (matching the similar design, an almost identical color to the iPhone 17 Pro) and Snowfield White are available.
The base version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs 2,699 CNY (330 €/385 US dollars), while the version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage costs 2,999 CNY (367 €/428 US dollars). The launch in China is scheduled for Friday, January 9th. Honor has not yet announced whether the Power 2 will be available outside of China.
