Xiaomi began teasing the global Redmi Note 15 5G a few days ago, initially confirming the 108MP main camera and the 5,520mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Now there’s a new reveal, and this time we learn one of the most important specifications: the device’s chipset.

The Redmi Note 15 5G will use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which was quietly unveiled in September. Incidentally, this is exactly the same chip as in the chinese Note 15, which was already presented in August. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor has four Cortex-A78 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores with a clock speed of up to 1.8 GHz.

The processor is also paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. If you’re familiar with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, you’ll immediately notice the similarity. Redmi promises “48 months of smooth performance” for this chipset and states that it offers 10% higher GPU and 30% higher CPU performance compared to the previous generation.

However, it remains unclear what exactly is being compared to – the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, the predecessor of this chip (there was never a 6 Gen 2), or to the Redmi Note 14 5G and its Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset? We don’t know.

According to previous leaks, the Redmi Note 15 5G features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. It also includes a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 20 MP selfie camera.
