Huawei Watch GT 6: First teaser shows outdoor sports modes
The Huawei Watch GT 6 series will be unveiled at an event in Paris on September 19th – exactly one year after the release of the GT 5 series. Today, the company released the first teaser for the new watch. It’s a short teaser that shows cycling, freediving, trail running, downhill skiing, and golfing.
The sports aren’t really new, of course. The Huawei Watch GT 5, for example, supported over 100 sports modes, including advanced tracking for runners with routes on a map and running form analysis. To be fair, golf was more of a feature reserved for the GT 5 Pro, as it offered access to over 15,000 golf courses with 3D previews. Nevertheless, this generation’s focus seems to be on sports.
The launch countdown page confirms the sporty focus of the Huawei smartwatch. The page highlights three features of the Huawei Watch GT 6: advanced outdoor sports, “ultra-long” battery life, and highly accurate location tracking.
The teaser clip didn’t include any technical specifications, but we have some leaked information about the Huawei Watch GT 6. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, there will be two models: 41 mm and 46 mm. The smaller version will be available in gold, purple, brown, white, and black, while the larger watch will be available in gray, brown, silver, titanium, green, and black.
